All videos except xvid work with xbmc...
via flash ftp to my xbox harddrive. amazingly enough, it
showed up in my 'apps' menu, right where i expected it to be.
seems to play all the different types of video files i throw at
it, except xvid. which of course really sucks, as the whole reason
i dared tamper with what was already working, was to get xvid
playback functionality.
naturally, i searched this forum for info, but found nothing that
would set me on the path to (xvid) enlightenment... :sniffle:
any ideas...???
was i supposed to do something after i copied it from the computer to the xbox...???
thanks...
be the only option left, that it was a burning error.
thing is, i made to copies. 1 iso, and 1 udf. neither works.
note: i used nero to burn. two files were burnt, 1 at 1.4 gig,
and 1 at 2.0 gig.
i copied an xvid, off the dvd onto the xbox hd...and it plays.
so what could it be...???
the media used works fine for playing other media formats, as
well as regular dvd backups and game backup(both legally bought, of course)
the following codecs all claim to be capable of processing this format:
--> {xvid mpeg-4 codec}
--> {divx decoder filter}
{ffdshow mpeg-4 video decoder}
--> {divx decoder filter}
--> {xvid mpeg-4 video decoder}
to get more information by having gspot instruct the o/s to "play" the file
and then examine the results, press the button labeled "render".
directshow claims to be able to play the file. the following combination of
filters were used:
{f:\kangeroo jack.avi} (source)
{avi splitter} (splitter)
{divx decoder filter} (video decoder)
{video renderer} (video renderer)
{mpeg layer-3 decoder} (audio decoder)
{default directsound device} (audio renderer)
audio format:
code: 0x0055
name: wave_format_mpeglayer3 (mp3)
vendor: iso/mpeg
the following codecs all claim to be capable of processing this format:
--> {fraunhofer iis mpeg layer-3 codec (professional)}
--> {lame mp3 codec v0.9.0 - 3.96 (stable)}
--> {fraunhofer iis mpeg layer-3 codec (professional)}
{ffdshow audio decoder}
--> {mpeg layer-3 decoder}
{nero digital audio decoder}
directshow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this
media clip should work fine.
see the directshow render details for more info.
