This is Man City's first match of this year's Carling Cup since they qualified for Europe as UEFA Cup participants.
Man City leads the all-time series, 18-15-2, with a 3-1-0 League Cup advantage. QPR, however, holds a 5-2-1 edge in the last eight meetings. The clubs last met in 1999/2000 in Division 1, with QPR wining in Manchester and playing to a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.
Lordy - this is one heck of a tough draw thus far.
I love it for a bunch of reasons...
1. They'll probably fill the School End (£££)
2. We have a bit of a jinx on them. Jamie Pollock and all. Plus, the last time I saw them at LR we won 2-0.
3. I think we can beat them this season if they (like Sheff United) are not fully up for it. They play nice football though - big Dan vs Anelka could be a super match-up, if both are in the line-up. With them being in Europe, they should put out a reserve side.
